Resembling hideous, winged humans, harpies are nasty, selfish, mean-spirited, and in all ways repellant. They are exceptional, tireless fliers, and relish shredding prey alive with their foot talons. While agile and quick-witted, they are so foul-tempered that their rage often overwhelms their judgement.

  • Abbreviation: Har.
  • Ill-Suited to Be: casters.

A harpy can be considered a rat with wings. They are good generalists that can exist as a wide variety of classes, but will not excel in any single role.

Their hp is mediocre, as is their mana pool.

Stealth-wise they are similar to humans, but they possess a solid archery modifier - so archers and druids are viable choices. Their high dexterity also makes them good tanks with monks, rogues and related classes.

Considering spell-casting, harpies receive noticeably less mana than an elf and are not a no-fail race, though their human-like hp can make them serve as a non-reliable caster experiment (with more tnl than lizardmen).

Harpies were added April 20th, 2007.
