Resembling hideous, winged humans, harpies are nasty, selfish, mean-spirited, and in all ways repellant. They are exceptional, tireless fliers, and relish shredding prey alive with their foot talons. While agile and quick-witted, they are so foul-tempered that their rage often overwhelms their judgement.

A harpy can be considered a "poor man's griffin". They are good generalists that can serve in a wide variety of classes, but do not excel in either.

A high hp makes them good brutes, preferably in tanking roles due to high dexterity and a lack of racial damage modifier - which makes them hit like any ordinary hitter (though racial frenzy helps here as well).

Stealth-wise they are similar to humans, but they posses a solid archery modifier - so archers (or even druids due to almost modestly decent mana pools) can be a good choice for them.

Harpies receive noticeably less mana than an elf and are not a no-fail race, though their high hp can make them serve as an interesting beefy non-reliable caster experiment, at least until a remort. Then again, so can any race, but fortunately harpies at least do not have a negative spell-casting modifier.

Harpies were added April 20th, 2007.
