Any openable object may contain a trap (excluding corpses). Traps range from mild poisons to lethal explosions. Some go off when the chest is opened, some when the lock is picked. The Rogue Lore skill will allow you to INSPECT containers, looking for traps. The Rogue skill DISARM TRAPS allows you to DISMANTLE traps on chests without setting them off, unless, of course, you slip, or attempt to remove the wrong kind of trap. Trap disarming tools are available at many rogue guilds. As with all skills involving ROGUE TOOLs, the rate of success is heavily dependant on the quality of the tool.

Prerequisite(s): Rogue Lore.

Syntax: inspect <container>.
Syntax: dismantle <trap-type> <container>.
